A Trip to McJunk

Why on earth would the Amnicola Hwy McDonalds be completely full on a Wednesday at 4:34pm? Morgan and I asked ourselves this very question as we parked in one of the last parking spots left. Baffled we walked inside trying to decide what we would get as we waited in line. Celebratory food was indeed needed, because, as I have told just about everyone- I made a 100% on my precal test. As we stood discussing a man informed us that Wednesday was $2 big mac day. And like a super sized brick it hit us: That’s what had attracted so many people to this location. They had swarmed, attracted to the big mac sauce and special containers holding the burger in place. We each ordered one and happily took our seats. Blanket looked at us sadly from the car. But it just wasn’t cold enough and I believe there are some things in McJunk that if exposed to Blanket would never come out. Theo has told me I may keep blanket until August, so with temporary guardianship I must protect Blanket. On a side note, the man who told us about the big mac deal asked me for my phone number as we walked to our seat and when turned down, turned to Morgan. Who does that??? Perhaps it’s just the crowd that is attracted by Big Mac day. We sat for a while discussing the greater issues in life- religion etc. Somehow these topics always come up in McJunk. Such a curious thing. Back in the car we took a picture of Blanket’s view of McDonalds. While Blanket did not enjoy a big mac I certainly did and Blanket chilled on my lap all the way home.
